Artist Bio

Taj Poscé (b. 1995, Philadelphia) is a Baltimore-based artist whose work bridges painting, construction materials, and fire to explore value, memory, and the cosmic presence of ancestors. Through burned surfaces, hard-edged structures, and cosmic motifs, Poscé investigates the fluid nature of identity and the weight of personal and collective histories. His practice draws from universal law, spiritual lineage, and the intrinsic knowledge carried in matter.

Poscé received his MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art’s LeRoy E. Hoffberger School of Painting and his BFA from the Tyler School of Art. He is the recipient of the Congressional Black Caucus Visual Artist Award, the Mural Arts Black Artist Grant, the Creative Baltimore Fund Artist Grant, and fellowships from the Hoffberger Foundation. His work has been exhibited at DIMIN (NY), Sean Kelly LA, NADA, and 7 rue Froissart, a satellite event coinciding with Art Basel Paris.
